Q: Will I have to disrobe?
A: Most massage sessions are performed with a client disrobed either entirely or partially to access the skin directly. The client is left to disrobe in privacy and is adequately draped at all times once on the massage table. Only the body part being massaged is exposed.
Q: How will I feel during my session?
A: How a client feels during the massage is subjective to the goals for the session and the type of massage you are receiving. Dim lighting, soft music and the skilled hands of the therapist are utilized to enhance deep relaxation to release muscle tension and pain allowing the client to feel comfortably aware of what’s happening, yet completely relaxed.
Q: How safe is massage therapy?
A: Massage Therapy is extremely safe. It is a natural, drug free, low impact way of helping the body unleash its own healing potential.
Q: I have some health conditions - is it safe for me to get a massage?
A: On your first visit, we will ask you to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete a health questionnaire. After this, your therapist will review your form to rule out contraindications to massage and have a short consultation with you prior to your session. If you are under the care of a physician, it is strongly recommended to have your doctor's approval beforehand.
Q: My skin is very dry! Do you have products to help me?
A: Yes! Use Beautifying Composition™ as a pre-cleanser (it also makes it easier to remove facial makeup). Continue with Botanical Kinetics™ purifying creme cleanser and botanical kinetics™ hydrating lotion, adding intensive hydrating masque two times per week.
Q: I'm not sure what facial I should get. Which do you recommend?
A: Our highly trained staff will conduct a brief consultation with you and discuss which skin care products would be most beneficial for your skin type prior to your treatment. At the end of your facial, you will be given a list of the products used that you may purchase in our expansive retail room.
Q: Can I try an Aveda product before I buy it?
A: Absolutely! We have samples of almost all the products in our retail room, including make-up! Stop by the spa and try some today!
Cancellation/No Show Policy:
Since we have reserved time especially for you, we ask that you please give us a 24 to 48 hour notice if you are unable to honor your reservation. Please note that we must apply a 50% service charge for reservations cancelled less than 24 hours in advance.
Check-in is fifteen minutes before your first scheduled appointment. Tardy guests may have to sacrifice a part of their treatment time when there is another treatment to follow immediately after.
Our staff may terminate treatment when experiencing a clients inappropriate language or action.
Inclement Weather Policy:
We would like to keep everyone as safe as possible, so if our local schools and/or MTU are cancelled due to inclement weather, any appointments that start before noon will automatically be rescheduled. Any appointments that start at noon or after will be at the discretion of the client and the staff.
There will not be any charge for cancelled/rescheduled appointments under these circumstances.
